How to set an element due date

In Collect, you can now assign individual due dates to specific elements within a request—such as documents, forms, or tasks. This gives you more control over how and when different parts of a request are completed by your clients.

Why use element due dates?

Setting a due date per element is useful when:

  • Different parts of a request need to be completed at different times
  • You want to highlight time-sensitive steps to clients
  • You're building more flexible or phased workflows

How to add a due date to an element

Step-by-step:
  • While editing a campaign, go to the element you want to update.
  • Click the Settings button (top right of the element block).

  • In the settings panel, find and click the Due date option.

You will now see multiple due date types to choose from:

  • No due date (default)
  • Relative to sending date – e.g., “3 days after request sent”
  • Relative to request due date – e.g., “2 days before request due date”
  • Fixed date – set a specific calendar date

Choose the one that best fits your workflow and save the changes.

What your client sees

Once the request is live:

  • The element due date will appear next to each relevant item on the portal.
  • The color of the due date indicator changes depending on its status: On time, upcoming or overdue (visually highlighted for urgency)

Editing due dates after sending

After a request is created, you can still adjust the due date of an individual element in the request details view. This gives you flexibility in case plans or timelines change.
