# How to use auto-validation

Auto-validation in Collect allows you to automatically approve certain form responses or uploaded documents—saving time and streamlining your workflow.

### What is auto-validation?
By default, when a customer submits a form or uploads a document, the item enters a **“waiting for validation”** status. This means a team member must manually review and approve or reject the submission.
With **auto-validation**, you can skip this manual step. The element will be **automatically marked as validated** as soon as the customer completes it.

### When to use it
Auto-validation is useful when:
* Some submissions don’t require manual review
* You want to mix **manual validation** for critical elements and **auto-validation** for straightforward ones
* You need to reduce the time spent on reviewing obvious or low-risk submissions

### How to enable auto-validation

###### Step-by-step:
* In your **campaign builder**, locate the form or document element.
* Click **Edit** on the element.
* Click the **Settings** button (top right of the element block).
